About
I live in Hartland, VT, a small rural town near White River Junction where I have a home studio and press. I grew up in Swarthmore, PA and then went to Oberlin College where I majored in religion and studio art. Intro to Printmaking was the first art class I took at Oberlin during my freshman year. After college I moved to Seattle and worked at various jobs including: bulk foods buyer at Rainbow Grocery, office manager at The Stranger, and assistant at Stone Press Editions, a fine art lithography press. I got my MFA in printmaking at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. After Tyler I taught printmaking and foundations at the Savannah College of Art and Design. A year after our first daughter was born, we moved up to Vermont where my husband, cartoonist James Sturm, started theCenter for Cartoon Studies. I am on the board of Two Rivers Printmaking Studio, a cooperative printmaking facility which is located in the Tip Top Building in downtown WRJ. I teach painting at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH and printmaking workshops at TRPS. I have also taught at Amherst College and The Center for Cartoon Studies. I have shown work at The Kent Museum in Calais, VT, Burlington City Arts (BCA) in Burlington, VT, the Hooloon Gallery in Philadelphia, the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, MA, Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle, UK, Helen Day Art Museum in Stowe, VT and the AVA Gallery in Lebanon, NH.
